In the summer of 1957, Italian car manufacturer and former racing driver Enzo Ferrari (Adam Driver) finds himself in a serious crisis. His company Ferrari, which he and his wife Laura (Penélope Cruz) had built up from nothing ten years earlier, is on the verge of bankruptcy. Ferrari's turbulent marriage oscillates between mourning the loss of his son and recognising his second marriage to his lover (Shailene Woodley). To avert further financial losses, Ferrari decides to focus all his energies on one race: the famous Mille Miglia, a 1000-mile race across Italy. A masterfully staged film about the entrepreneur Ferrari, who proves to be as ruthless in his fight for business success as he is indecisive in his private life.
